Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What station will “Stories of the Supernatural” be on?
A: We are currently in negotiations, and can’t make an official announcement yet. Many television stations cannot sell airtime until year-round advertisers lock in their available time slots (“avails”) by some time during summer.
Q: What time slot and day will the show be on?
A: This is also a negotiable item, but we are looking seriously at the midnight hour and late prime time, on Friday or Saturday night.
Q: Why don’t you schedule the show in prime time, like 8:00-10:00 p.m.?
A: There are virtually no avails during prime time, especially on local stations affiliated with a network. Network programming nearly always pre-empts local programming, reducing greatly the avails during prime time.
Q: Is anyone going to be watching TV at midnight?
A: Yes! In fact, according to Nielsen Media Research, the authority on television viewing habits, late night TV viewership has been increasing substantially over the past several years. These statistics reflect both viewers in the coveted 18-34 year-old demographic group, and teens.
Q: When will the show start?
A: “Stories of the Supernatural” is scheduled to premiere in January, 2009.
Q: What happens if the show is cancelled?
A: In case the show is totally cancelled for any reason, all payments will be completely refunded to sponsors. This is covered in the Agreement.
Q: How many episodes will there be and how long will the show run? A: We have scheduled a minimum of seven original episodes and six reruns for a total of 13 weeks, from January-March, 2009. We will make every effort possible to produce additional original episodes.
Q: What will happen after the first 13-week season? Will the show run again?
A: We are very hopeful that our sponsors will sign up for the second season, which is scheduled to resume in January, 2010. We will be working on new episodes in the meantime. For the second year, we are hoping for a full 26-episode season.
Q: When are the payments due?
A: The first payment is due at the signing of the Agreement; the final payment is due within 30 days of the first scheduled airdate of the program, which will be the first week of January, 2009. We will also provide proof that programming avails have been purchased for the entire 13-week period.
Q: When will we get a DVD and tape of our commercial?
A: Normal production time for a commercial is up to 8 weeks after final approval by sponsors of script/and/or shot list.
